Best Places to Relax, Stay and Eat in Cornwall

We like to think that we are the experts in all things watersports and boats here in Cornwall, but we do also know a thing or two about the best places. After a year of being stuck at home we know you are all desperate to get out to experience the best eateries, spas and places to stay. With this in mind we thought we’d pull together what we think are the best places to stay, eat and relax in Cornwall this Summer and beyond. Read on for our pick of the best.

For Picnics – Fees Food, Rock

A firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, Fees Food has a mouth-watering deli counter and does a mean sandwich. If you’re looking for a picnic, BBQ box, coffee, cake, sandwich, crispy salad or even a homemade freshly frozen family meal, then Fees is the place you need! Look out for their Salad Of The Day, and also their BBQ boxes which can be pre-ordered for delivery or collection.

For Spa Treatments – Cowshed Spa @ St Moritz Hotel, Trebetherick

If you know anything about the spa world then you’ll have heard of Cowshed. There are a few around the country but St Moritz is lucky enough to have the only one in Cornwall. Their pedicures are like a magic spell; your feet will never be smoother! Also worth a try, is one of their super indulgent Skinceuticals facials. The team at St Moritz will leave you feeling seriously pampered and glowing from the inside and out.

For Fine Dining – Rick Steins, Padstow

Rick Stein and Padstow go together like Champagne and Ice. Rick has grown an empire in the little harbour town with restaurants, rooms, a deli, cookery school, coffee shop, fish mongers and more, all within walking distance of the harbour. We recommend you try the Thai fishcakes from the Rick Stein fish and chip shop on the quay side- delicious!

For a Great Beer – Sharps, St Minver

Proud brewers of Doom Bar, one of the best-selling cask and bottled ales in the country, Sharps Brewery has a special place in the hearts of many. Situated in St Minver the brewery team say that they are inspired by their location, neighbouring the Camel, Atlantic Ocean and of course the legendary Doom bar itself. If you fancy having a look around, they do brewery tours where tasting isn’t only welcomed; it’s encouraged!

For Self-Catering – John Brays, Rock

If you’ve stayed in a holiday home near Polzeath or Rock chances are you’ve stayed in a John Bray property. Their portfolio of luxury holiday homes is mouth-watering to say the least.  From 12 room mansions with pools and gyms, to 3 bed cottages with inglenook fireplaces and wildflower gardens, they have something for everyone. The team work round the clock day and night to see to their guests during their stay and because of this their properties get snapped up quickly! Book now for next year before they all go!

For Seaview Stays – Atlantic House Hotel, New Polzeath

The recently refurbed Atlantic House Hotel is perched enviably overlooking Polzeath beach in New Polzeath. They have luxury apartments overlooking the bay and Stepper point, along with family and couple rooms. If you want to stay beside the beach, you really couldn’t get any closer. If you fancy a drink or dinner during your stay, the hotel is lucky enough to have The Atlantic Bar & Kitchen inhabiting the ground floor, where you can enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or maybe just a cold glass of something on the sunny terrace.

For Tranquillity – Trevear Farm

Trevear Farm is a countryside retreat which has been beautifully renovated into a collection of self-catering holiday cottages. There’s a pool and gym on site, along with modern touches whilst still feeling that you are in the heart of the countryside. Of all the properties at Trevear, our favourite has to be Linhay, a fantastic converted barn which is designed on two levels. There’s a sumptuous open plan living space, exposed beams and beautifully hand-crafted furniture throughout.
