Do you want to become a Surf Instructor?
Andy, Managing Director of Wavehunters is an official Surfing England Trainer Assessor and is now running Surf Instructor qualifications at Wavehunters Surf School.
Join Andy and Pete from Kings Surf School on the 1st and 2nd of July for the Surfing England Recreation Instructor award. With an initial two days of theory at Watergate Bay, you are then required to do 20 hours of supervised lessons, learning how to use the theory you’ve learnt in the water. Your last session will be an assessed lesson in which Andy or Pete will sign you off as an instructor! The hours can be completed over a number of weeks at your convenience around work and other commitments.
Requirements?
- Are able to paddle out and turtle roll
- Catch unbroken green waves, bottom turn and trim left and right
- Be able to demonstrate a minimum level of surfing ability:
- To start working as a qualified surf coach you will need to then complete the following:
- Up to date Beach Lifeguard or Surf Lifesaving award (this can be completed after the course, however you cannot shadow lessons until completed).

Following a successful completion of your course, you’ll be offered the chance to coach with Wavehunters Surf School, being mentored by Andy and his team of highly experienced Surf Instructors.
