Do you want to become a Surf Instructor?

Andy, Managing Director of Wavehunters has become a qualified trainer assessor and is running the first Surfing England Instructor course with Pete from King Surf school. With over 20 years experience between them running two successful surf schools, you are in the best possible hands.

Join us on the 23rd and 24th of March for two days of theory at Watergate Bay, no other class room allows surfing breaks! After the initial 2 days, you are required to do 20 hours of supervised lessons, learning how to use the theory in the water. Your last session will be an assessed lesson in which Andy will sign you off as an instructor! The hours can be completed over a number of weeks at your convenience around work and other commitments.

Requirements?

  • Are able to paddle out and turtle roll
  • Catch unbroken green waves, bottom turn and trim left and right
  • Be able to demonstrate a minimum level of surfing ability:
  • To start working as a qualified surf coach you will need to then complete the following:
  • Up to date Beach Lifeguard or Surf Lifesaving award (this can be completed after the course, however you cannot shadow lessons until completed).

Following a successful completion of your course, you’ll be offerred the chance to coach with Wavehunters, being mentored by Andy and his team of highly experienced Surf Instructors.
