Meet Cath

Hi I’m Catherine and I coordinate all the boat trips for Wavehunters!

Meet Cath

I’m not quite sure how I ended up in this position as I initially asked the boss for a job selling ice-creams on the beach whilst I organised my eldest daughter’s wedding, I specifically said I didn’t want any responsibility, make any decisions or do any organising, yet bizarrely, that is what I’ve ended up doing.

My background is in social services and education and I guess my job with Wavehunters isn’t entirely different, as I’ve gone from organising very young children to managing a team of unruly and disorganised men……children are far more compliant!

I do believe I have one of the best jobs in the world though, a fantastic waterfront view from our office in Padstow harbour, a dynamic and ever-developing company, some incredibly funny and interesting conversations with our customers who come from all over the world (those of you who know me, know that I’m rather chatty) and probably not many people can boast that their commute to work is in part on a boat across the incredibly beautiful Camel Estuary.

Looking ahead to this new season is exciting as well as phenomenally scary, we’ve gone from 2 boats to 4 and increased our team threefold so having just had 5 months off work I’m expecting to be fairly busy, predictions are that for Cornwall this year, leisure and tourism is going to be like none other seen before, so on average that’s in the region of 360 people per day to get in the right place at the right time!

Let me know if you would like to experience one of our incredible marine Safari trips, organise a party on board, celebrate an anniversary or corporate event, or want to use our brand new evening water taxi across the estuary.  I look forward to catching up with all our regular customers and meeting thousands more x
