North Cornwall is the perfect place to learn how to surf and the safe beach of Polzeath combined with our friendly professional surf instructors makes Wavehunters Surf School one of the best places to learn. Polzeath is one of the safest beaches on the North Cornish coast as it is a gentle slopping beach offering fantastic surf all year around. The beach is also lifeguarded throughout the summer as well as during school holidays and half terms.

Wavehunters Surf School is open all year around and excels in providing people of all ages personal attention and specifically tailored surf lessons to suit your individual needs from experienced, committed and professional surf coaches. All our staff are CRB checked, qualified lifeguards, fully BSA qualified surf instructors and experienced in coaching and working with children as well as having a profound knowledge of Polzeath beach. We try to keep our staff to student ratios lower than the recommended industry limit.

Learning to surf is quite simply one of the best things you can do in life and we appreciate that people learn at different speeds and in different ways and as a result of our many years of progressive surf coaching we have developed a range of unique techniques and a personalised style to help each and every surfer understand the waves, get to their feet and start controlling the board in a friendly, safe and relaxed atmosphere.

Wavehunters Surf School offers surf courses for beginners, improvers, developers and advanced as both private and group lessons. With top of the range facilities and the latest coaching resources Wavehunters Surf School is the natural choice no matter what your level of surfing. We have a variety of learn to surf options making it perfect for children and adults, groups and families, stag and hen groups, corporate events or really just about anyone of any age and ability, Wavehunters will bring you everything you could want from your surfing experience.

During the summer we run lessons at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm everyday and lessons run for just over 2 hours. Out of season it is best to call for lesson times.

During peak season, our own professional photographer will be on hand to capture your classic wipe-outs during your lesson as well as your first unforgettable stand up ride on a wave. The photographs are available to purchase at the end of each lesson.
